Introduction

There are two vital relationships a man must nurture to live a fulfilled life and destiny: intimacy with God through the Holy Spirit and sexual intimacy with his wife by the Holy Spirit. The enemy’s greatest strategy is to find a tiny crack in either of these, using it as an entry point to disrupt peace, love, and purpose.

Satan is described as a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8), but in reality, he is nothing more than a dog—powerless unless given access. A minor loophole in the intimacy between the first man and woman allowed the devil to engage Eve in a conversation that altered the course of human history forever. If Adam and Eve had remained fully united—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—the enemy would have found no room to operate.

Give no place to the evil one. (Ephesians 4:27)

These two relationships—spiritual intimacy with God and physical intimacy in marriage—must run parallel. One cannot substitute for the other. If sexual intimacy with your spouse is rocky, even your faith in God can be questioned. How can you claim to love God, whom you cannot see, when you struggle to love the spouse right beside you? (1 John 4:20). People may judge your faith based on the state of your marriage, assuming a simple issue of miscommunication and misunderstanding means a lack of spiritual depth.

How can you claim an intimate relationship with God—who is spirit—while barely maintaining communication with the one you physically dwell with?

Sexual Intimacy – A Sacred Bond

Sex in marriage is often misunderstood and undervalued. Some see it merely as an obligation, while others treat it as something to be done only when convenient. However, God designed intimacy as a beautiful tool—a means of bonding, joy, restoration, and even healing between husband and wife.

More than just a physical act, sex in marriage is an act of worship to God. When embraced with love, honor, and understanding, it reflects His divine plan for unity, pleasure, and partnership.

1 John 4

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

SMITH WIGGLESWORTH - The Power of Christ's Resurrection!

“That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death. . . I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Phil. 3: l0-14.

What a wonderful word! This surely means to press on to be filled with all the fullness of God. If we leak out here we shall surely miss God, and shall fail in fulfilling the ministry He would give us. The Lord would have us preach' by life, and by deed, always abounding in service; living epistles, bringing forth to men the knowledge of God. If we went all the way with God, what would happen? What should we see if we would only seek to bring honor to the name of our God? Here we see Paul pressing in for this. There is no standing still. We must move on to a fuller power of the Spirit, never satisfied that we have apprehended all, but filled with the assurance that God will take us on to the goal we desire to reach, as we press on for the prize ahead.

Abraham came out from Ur of the Chaldeans. We never get into a new place until we come out from the old one. There is a place 'where we leave the old life behind, and where the life in Christ fills us and we are filled with His glorious personality. On the road to Damascus, Saul of Tarsus was apprehended by Christ. From the first he sent up a cry, "Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?" He desired always to do the will of God, but here as he writes to the Philippian saints he longs for a place of closer intimacy, a place of fuller power, of deeper crucifixion. He sees a prize ahead and every fiber of his being is intent on securing that prize. Jesus Christ came to be the firstfruits; the firstfruits of a great harvest of fruit, like unto Himself.

How zealous is the farmer as he watches his crops and sees the first shoots and blades. They are the earnest of the great harvest of faith that is coming. Paul here is longing that the, Father's heart shall be satisfied, for in that first resurrection the Heavenly Husbandman will see a firstfruit harvest, firstfruits like unto Christ, Sons of God made conformable to the only begotten Son of God. You say, "I am in a needy place." It is in the needy places that God delights to work. For three days the people that were with Christ were without food, and He asked Philip, "from whence shall we buy bread that these may eat?' That was a hard place for Philip, but not for Jesus, for He knew, perfectly what He would do, the hard place is where He delights to show forth His miraculous power. And how fully was need provided for. Bread enough and to spare! Two troubled, baffled travelers are on the road to Emmaus, as they commune together and reasoned, Jesus Himself drew near, and He opened up the Word to them in such a way that they saw light in His light. Their eyes were holden that they could not recognize the One who was talking with them, Luke 24:13-35. But, Oh, how their hearts burned within as He opened up the Scriptures to them. And at the breaking of bread He was made known to them. Always seek to be found in the place where He manifests His presence and power. The resurrected Christ appeared to Peter and a few more of them early one morning on the shore of the lake; He prepared a meal for the tired, tried disciples. That is just like Him. Count on His presence. Count on His power. Count on His provision. He is always there just where you need Him. Have you received Him? Are you to be found "in Him"? Have you received His righteousness, which is by faith?

Abraham got to this place, for God gave this righteousness to him because he believed, and as you believe God

He puts His righteousness to your account. He will put His righteousness right within you He will keep you in perfect peace as you stay your mind upon him and trust in him He will bring you to a rest of faith, to a place of blessed assurance that all that happens is working for your eternal good.

Here is the widow’s son on the way to burial. Jesus meets that sad procession. He has compassion on the poor widow who is taking her only son to the cemetery. His great heart had such compassion that death had no power-it could no longer hold its prey. Compassion is greater than suffering. Compassion is greater than death. Oh God, give us compassion! In His infinite compassion Jesus stopped that funeral procession and cried to the widow's son, "Young man, I say unto thee, Arise!”. And he who was dead sat up and Jesus delivered him to his mother.

Paul got a vision and revelation of the resurrection power of Christ, and so he was saying, ''I will not stop until I have laid hold of what God has laid hold of me for." For what purpose has God laid hold of us? To be channels for His power.

He wants to manifest the power of the Son of God through you and me. God help us to manifest the faith of Christ, the compassion of Christ, and the resurrection power of Christ.

One morning about eleven o'clock I saw a woman who was suffering with tumor. She could not live through the day. A little blind girl led me to the bedside.Com-passion broke me up and I wanted that woman to live for the child's sake. I said to the woman, "Do you want to live?" She could not speak. She just moved her finger. I anointed her with oil and said, “In the name of Jesus!” There was a stillness of death that followed; and the pastor, looking at the woman, said to me, "She is gone!"

When God pours in His compassion it has resurrection power in it. I carried that woman across the room, pull her against a wardrobe and held her there. I said, "In the name of Jesus, Death, come out!" And soon her body began to tremble like a leaf. "In Jesus name, walk!" I said. She did and went back to bed. I told this story in the assembly. There was a doctor there and he said, I'll prove that! He went to the woman and she told him- it was perfectly true. She said, "I was

in heaven, and I saw countless numbers all like Jesus. Then I heard a voice saying, “Walk, in the name of Jesus.” There is power in the name of Jesus. Let us apprehend it, the power of His resurrection, the power of His compassion, the power of His love. Love will break the hardest thing-there is nothing it will not break.

F. G. REED - Looking unto Jesus!

A NEW convert is an idealist. Having become

a new-born babe in Christ, he is tenderly nurtured by the Holy Spirit; and into his heart comes the beginnings of great spiritual ideals and ambitions: to trust in the Lord with all his heart and lean not to his own understanding; to seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; by faith, to put on wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

As a branch of the true Vine he means to abide and to bring forth much fruit. "For," says he, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me."

The new convert is an idealist, and he has hitched his wagon to a star. That star represents all that he may hope to have in Christ, all that may be possessed by reason of His victory over sin.

Christ, in the power of His Resurrection, has provided a star that is not an elusive ideal but a reality of righteousness and true holiness, to be claimed and possessed by the least among His children. It is a Spirit born ideal to which a babe in Christ clings.

If, therefore, he is an idealist, he is so by the will of God and according-to the Word of promise. But a child cannot always remain a child, even in Christ. He must "leave the doctrine of the first principles of Christ" and "go on into perfection." a follower "of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises." And as the Christian proceeds he well knows the trials, the disappointments, the near shipwreck, and the "fightings without" and the "fears within." It is with the "fears within" that this message deals with in particular.

Often the most serious and subtle temptations are not of the flesh, but of the mind. The greatest; fear, and yet the subtlest, is that the ideals of Christian childhood may be not quite attainable. It may not be one but a series of trifling temptations that leads us further and further from the ideal that we can have all that we believe God wants us to have. Carefully the enemy of the soul works and plots to bring about the downfall of a trusting saint. If he cannot do it by "fightings without" he will suggest "fears within; doubts which, if allowed, will imperceptibly but surely weaken the faith.

Perplexity follows, and after perplexity a misgiving as to the ability of any Christian to really live a life of pure and absolute faith in Jesus. Such a doubt as this is sure to come: "I look at Brother So-and-so, an old warrior in the faith; and I am disappointed that he is not what many believe him to be. He does not fulfill my ideal of perfection in Christ. If such a venerated man as he cannot be what I think he ought to be, how can I hope to ever live in absolute surrender to the Holy Spirit and fulfill all the law of Christ?"

Now, mistakes on our part and on the part of others maybe inevitable. But His Word says, "He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust."

The temptation is to condemn others and to condone ourselves. If our ideal is "wisdom, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption" then, that ideal is attainable in Christ, and we must look to Christ for it, 1 Corinthians 1 :30, 31 very clearly says so.

So, on the authority of the Word of God, I can say for the comfort of all who are sincere though fearful: our first ideals of godliness are attainable. If we have hitched our wagon to a star, that star is ours by right of conquest. The conquest was made when our Mediator tasted death for every man, and rose triumphant over all that is unholy. The victory has been won. There now remains the appropriation of that victory by faith. Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Appropriation only means believing. The secret of success in spiritual life is not to be found in finding the faults of others; but it is to be found in God's Word. It is the Spirit and not the flesh that fights the battle: it was God and not man who won the victory. But the strongest argument to show that those ideals of holiness born in the early days of our first love are still attainable completely in Christ is what the Scripture says on this particular subject. Read again Hebrews 12:1, 5 and see that the Holy Spirit expressly states that Jesus is both the Author and the Finisher of our faith.

Whence came our ideals? Jesus is the Author. And how may we know that it is possible to go the whole way with Jesus? Because the Author is also the Finisher. "He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

Wherefore I say on the ground of the immutable and everlasting Word of God, that they who diligently seek God may know that

He is, and that He is the rewarder of their faith.

Knowing that the Word of God is no lie-it is truth as profound as God Himself-there is but one thing left to do: take Him at His Word. As we are His own, we must be guided, strengthened, led by His Word.

The Word of God is the only thing that certainly tells the divine plan for our lives.

Why did Jesus die?

1. To show that He truly loves you

The death of Christ is the supreme expression that He “LOVES YOU AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR YOU.” He suffered shame, reproach and died because of your sin, in exchange for His life. Galatians 2:20

2. To bring you closer to God

The Gospel means “good news and it all ends in one thing: God himself. The gospel is the good news that at the cost of His Son’s life, God has done everything necessary to captivate you with what will make you happy forever. “Christ… suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.” 1 Peter 3:18

3. To show God’s love for sinners

The measure of God’s love is shown by the degree of His sacrifice in saving you from the penalty of your sins. In fact, the measure of this love increases still when we consider the degree of our unworthiness. “God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8. Our debt is so great, only a divine sacrifice, as Christ death, could pay for it… and when He paid it, He said it is finished.

4. To reconcile you back to God

The reconciliation that needs to happen between man and God goes both ways. God first act in reconciling you to himself was to remove the obstacle that separated Him from you as a result of the guilt of sin. “While we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son.” Romans 5:10

5. So that you can be free from curses

Has anyone ever cursed you before? Maybe your mother, your father, your boss, your husband, your wife, or a stranger? Are you suffering from self inflicted curse? Has these curses affected your destiny and progress in life? This is an opportunity for you to be free from curse.

There is only one way to be free; someone must pay the penalty on your behalf for the curse to be lifted off you. Jesus Christ already did that for you! The law’s demand has been fulfilled by Christ on the Cross of Calvary. “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us” Galatians 3:13. This provision includes all curses; including the curse God place on Adam and all his seed.

6. To take away our condemnation

The death of Christ secures freedom from condemnation for those who believe that Christ has served their death sentence. It is as sure that they cannot be condemned as it is sure that Christ died! To be “In Christ” means to be in relationship with Him by faith. “There is therefore now no condemnation for all those who are in Christ Jesus” Romans 8:1.

7. To destroy hostility between people of all tribe

The suspicion, hatred, prejudices and demeaning attitudes between people of different ethnic nationalities is unbelievable. Jesus died to create a whole new way for people to be reconciled to each other irrespective of your language, color or status in the society. “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; …Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandment contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; …And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby.” Ephesians 2:14-16.

8. To destroy the works of the devil

One clear reason Jesus came on earth was to destroy and reverse negative words that have caused negative recurrence, in the people. “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8

9. To give eternal life to all those who believe in Him

The death of Christ Jesus brings you closer to God. But your faith in Him alone will give you eternal life. “For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16.
